PHP-Nuke: Top-Merger: OSCommerce soon gets a Module for NUKES!
Add OnsAnonymous writes "the next Top Merger: making OSCommerce (DEMO) a Module for PHPNUKE and perhaps postnuke as well!

You sure remember the previous story about article: Want OSCommerce as a Module: Tell Devs at OSCommerce: THEN Vote Today!

Well to sum up: more than 91 Replies and 2056 views in Forums of OSCommerce.com were the results so far in this Module-thread here at the Forums. That was more than expected; Now we can admit that the module is on its way!

To give you the full story Klavs mentioned some days ago:" You want an OSCommerce module? Then make your your voice heard here at the Forums. I've suggested the oscommerce-Guys do what they do best the SHOP - and stop trying to do everything which they haven't - see the link above for examples) - and then support f.ex. pnAPI and Stand-Alone (like gallery.menalto.com does). This would make OSCommerce (DEMO) work with all CMS's that support pnAPI, incl. Envolution, Xaraya, PostNuke (of course) and PHP-Nuke (and perhaps even Xoops?) AFAIK. When Gallery can, OSCommerce can too. "
"I'm definitely counting on many CMS users (incl. PostNuke users) wanting the shop so great as OSCommerce as a module and I hope you'll let them know this, so they could perhaps see that this could speed up their development, if they wanted to focus on the Shop - and let the CMS users help getting it to work with the CMS's at large.""

The OSC team clearly said on that thread they are not planning to integrate their code with any CMS. It's not on their agenda and have no interest. This work has to be done by others.

Again, for the second time PostNuke's API does not work with PhpNuke or Xoops or any other non-PostNuke spin off. pnAPI is unique to PostNuke and it's two kids Envolution and Xaraya. That is it. Someone has already integrated OSC into PhpNuke but he charges money. I don't know the quality but he has done something. If you happen to be one of the programmers doing this mod, I won't hold my breath on ever seeing a product from you all which works on PhpNuke.
