A Guide to Better Posting on PHPNuke Sites
PHP-Nukeheshys writes "It's very easy to post news to a PHPNuke nuke site about a site, module, theme or other add-on. What I'm suggesting below is some standards about what you should include so that people scanning the news article can quickly see what they want.

Keep it simple- there's no reason to write a whole tome to introduce your site "how are you? ... I started this because... but then... i'm in a fight with... " You get the idea. Just tell us what we need to know and link to extra information. There have been studies that most people who read your site will not read the full article- they'll just scan it.

Organize your thoughts- Building on the above, break your posting into paragraphs or sections so someone scanning your post can easily find what they are looking for.

Describe it- briefly describe what makes your theme, module or site unique. Even if you think everyone knows the previous versions there are newbies, forgetful people or people who ignored it in the past that may find it useful now.

Tell Us What's New- Give readers a taste of what has changed in this version- so they know if it is worth the update and what to look for when they are trying your add-on.

Demo- link to a demo or two (or more if there are multiple features etc) to show your add-on in action. This makes it easy for visitors to know what you're all about.

Link to the download-If you have a download link to it. This will make it easier for visitors to find rather than navigating through your site- which may have download hidden.

At MetOpen we try to follow these guidelines see our MetOpen Home Page announcement as an example. We have even set up a "demo" section in our side menu to make it easy for users to find what they are looking for. With some usability considerations like above we can quickly disseminate PHPNuke news effectively and grow the community. This is not an exhaustive list and not directed at anyone specific. If you have any further suggestions discuss it in our forums. "
