(User Info | Send a Message) http://www.dogsempire.com | Don't mix themes for php-nuke and themes for phpbb. phpbb basically have only html structure. but php-nuke theme it's the code.
Also I would read "they make function calls to each other" as something that goes back and forth from the plugin back to the core program. Which doesnt happen.

1) phpnuke calls theme functions
themeheader, themefooter, themestory, themeindex.
2) Theme calls phpnuke functions. banner.php file, is_user, public_message, blocks. |
