Computer Cops: Protecting Your Nuke Site From Compromise

Computer Cops a couple months ago published a news article regarding new technologies for shoring up your Apache installations. They include two modules called:

  • DoS Evasive Maneuvers Module
  • mod_security

The first module keeps tabs on IP addresses and blocks down anything that acts like a DoS (configurable of course). The second one acts like a security audit trail as it a) logs full attacks even POST data, and b) can be configured to prevent Apache calls in reading system files (like /etc/passwd, or config.php) and XSS among so many more options.

mod_dosevasive is available --> here, mod_security is available --> here
